Triumph make a cable that will allow you to connect to 12V (via fuse #3) and earth. Fuse #3 has a uninterrupted 12V and is not dependant on the ignition key.
The cable part number is A9938065 (GPS Connector kit).
You will need to raise the tank to find the connector, and then remove the...

I was asked to start a thread on GPS tracking devices that you can use for your bikes. While there are many you can research online, I have the most experience with Sendum. http://sendum.com/When you go to this website, you have a couple of options. To be creative, one can remove the unit from...
I just had some warranty work done again. This is the second gear position sensor ( GPS ) that has needed replacing. I have 22,665 miles on the bike. Anyone else see the GPS as an issue?
On another note, the ride out to Triumph Manassas was great!
I have the cable to hard wire the GPS power but it is for a car Can I hook it up on the bike the same way by just splicing into a power and ground wire I know this seems like a dumb question but I just want to make sure, other than the heat might effect it but under the tank it shouldnt get too...
Ok, I have a Zumo550 that I was going to send to Warp for Xmas when I get a new one, but it took a crap on me yesterday. I am still doing a few long trips before my surgery and need an inexpensive replacement, but I can not justify the expense of a new Motorcycle GPS due to work issues and me...
Wondering where I can tap for power for my GPS.
Is there a plug under the gas tank that is used for fog lights?
Should I use the headlights circuit?
What will be my best bet?
It must be a switched circuit.
I'm working to install a GPS and a Phone to my handlebars, and I would like to have them both powered. Previously, on my last bike I had installed a 12v Cigarette plug on the handlebars, but found that it wasn't 100% reliable. I found that even though it had a waterproof cap, moisture still got...
or those who have xm radio and use the garmin antennae , where are you mounting it? Mine is under the tank and obviously not picking up the signal.
Thanks,
Eric
I got a Garmin Nuvi 50 LM GPS for x-mas. Has anybody found a decent handlebar mount that doesn't cost more than the GPS unit did ? There are a lot of them for sale on Amazon but most get low ratings. One I read about, the guys GPS fell out of the poorly designed mount and hit the pavement...
Well I splurged on the Zumo 665LM from Motorcycle Superstore. I just received the silk liners made by Tour Master and a couple different balaclavas made by Schampa. Nice products. Anyhow they swnt a magazine with the order with a 10% off coupon on the back plis free shipping. So I saved 80...
Has anyone seen a GPS mount that will mount directly underneath the small black flyscreen? I had thought about seeing if a sheet metal (like an aircraft A&P) mechanic could fabricate one. I would like it to bolt directly to the flyscreen but am concerned about the stress it may put on the...
I heard on the radio that maps are now heading into the realm of collectibles as cell phones with GPS and stand alone GPS units slowly replace the paper map. Your thoughts ?
I like maps because that is what I am used to.
GPS does include updated info, maps sometimes don't.
Paper is good and...
I just purchased a new Garmin Zumo 665 for my 2008 Rocket III Touring. Has anyone used this yet? Was wondering where you mount the XM antenna. Ive checked it all out and works fine, just dont know a good place to mount the antenna to be able to get good or at least decent reception. Also, Ive...
OK I am looking for a decent GPS for the Rocket but dont want to spend an arm and a leg ....any suggestions or let me know what you got so I can decide whether to invest more money in one or not. Are the ones that say they are designed for motorcycles really built tougher to take the extra...
I am thinking of adding a gps unit to the bike, many of you seem to have them, none of the guys I know here use them. My concern is screen visibility in sunlight. Any issues? My smart phone is unreadable in the sun no matter how I shade it. That is the only concern I have.
I'm on a roll here guys.
I wanted some opinions on the Garmin Zumo 660 and the
Tom Tom Urban Rider Europe, Pros & Cons please.
Also is there a plug connector up front under the tank on the Touring 'cause I think I saw a post in which a R3R had one there.
Anyway as usual I would appreciate a...
