    Tuneecu post settings

Yes, you just need to load the tune, power off, and go for a ride. The 15 minute idle is just letting the ECU "auto adapt", but doesn't do anything more for you than riding it does, as the ECU is an auto-adapting ECU anyway. Now, if you manually reset the adaptions, neither the 15 minute idle...

    Wheel Tools

Was curious so went down to the garage to check with the Torx sockets I have. A T60 is what you want. Handy that most of the socket sets you get online go up to T60, so it's not hard to find.

Thoughts on this new way of adding storage?

I think it's a good option if you need more than the tailpack + a backpack can carry (how I spend a few days away), but like others have said, I'd PPF the painted tailsection to protect the paint, and I'd never waste time mounting it on the rack as it has 3kg weight limit. Like Jagster said...

Genuine Triumph Tail Bag - FAIL In my case.

I bought the tail bag knowing it only mounted to the pillion seat (read all the instructions first as I needed to find the right part number before buying), as in nearly 4 years with the bike, I have not once carried a passenger. With the tail pack and a backpack I can get 2-3 nights away in...

    Issues with 2020 model?

I had the Fob issue really early on (first ride or two) but since I moved it from my left jeans pocket to my right jacket pocket that problem never returned for me (2021R). Also, familiarise yourself (and practice it) with the "standard key" start procedure, where you hold the presumably dead...

Free unrestricted maps for Rocket R GT and TFC now online

First, you can't read the existing map from your bike using TuneECU and the BT adapter. The TuneECU website does have stock maps, but not for the Storm yet. Second, you can't use a cable connection with any of the new Rockets and TuneECU.

    Vinyl Wrap?

I'm guessing if you have to go to the trouble of taking the tank off to wrap it properly, may as well paint it? 🤷‍♂️

Slip on exhuast vs a full system

You are not going to get many horsepowers more out of the Rocket with any exhaust I don't think, as the ECU adapts in real time to operating conditions. Aside from the Meerkat Mod that frees up flow through the cat, the other main restriction on pushing out the exhaust gases is actually the...

    GT Seat Leather or Vinyl?

There's a section in the manual titled "Leather Products Care", and I can't think of anything else, accessory or otherwise, that is leather? But then, it also has a section on "Seat Care" that just says: "Do not use chemicals or high pressure spray washers to clean the seat. Using chemicals or...

How accurate is the low fuel countdown?

I've not had it jump, it just counts down. Ride hard and it counts down faster! Does it just stop when it hits zero? Couldn't tell you, I normally pull in with it still at 20-30 k's at worst.

    Left Side AUX Power Socket

It has a round push-pin and a rectangle receptable for a slotted push-pin that has a rubber grommet in it. As they are different angles, when you pull the upper pin out it puts the lower one at an odd angle and you sort of have to move it back towards the bike from memory and pull the panel up...

Penner's Lower Gear Map Info Wanted

You absolutely can throw codes if something goes wrong, or if like me you do something dumb like reset the adaptions. Nothing is unrecoverable though. Like @EskimoPie said, if you prep every thing first (software versions for everything, battery tender connected, headlight fuse pulled, DRL...

Penner's Lower Gear Map Info Wanted

Your best bet is use TuneECU to work out your map number now (31013, 31019 etc for early US GT & R for example) and pick the right map from the custom maps page at Custom Tunes, search for the stock number as Penner has embedded that in the name.

    Removing right side exhaust caps?

I cut back the short end of an Allen key to get it to fit in the space and got it off easy. Getting the screw back in and started so I could tighten it up took a few tries!

    Carbon Fiber Parts

Instead. And the CarbonFBR ones (as an example) have a metal foil shielding on the back and heat washers to mount them. I’ve had mine for years with no issues. Carbon can burn though, as my dealer mis-mounted the exhaust centre shield when they did the brake recall and the exhaust heat...

    Carbon Fiber Parts

3rd vote for CarbonFBR as I have bought a bunch of bits and Jacques is responsive if there are issues, and I have found them among the cheapest so far for real carbon. He will also do different weaves and colours should you want it.
