Free unrestricted maps for Rocket R GT and TFC now online

As you saw, he increases the fuel in the mid range but not at the top. He has posted that the stock map was rich at the top and didn’t need more fuel. Note that people are getting 170+ rwhp with Penner’s unrestricted tunes. You should also check out Penner’s newer tunes for vins after av5456...

Had to let the Rocket go, my license is grateful!

Also, my first bike 55 years ago was a green Triumph Tiger (TR6R). The 400x comes in green, maybe not exactly the same, but close.

Had to let the Rocket go, my license is grateful!

I just sold my BMW R1250R and am looking to downsize, age (76) appropriate. I just test drove a 2025 400x. It was comfortable (which my arthritis appreciates) and adequate to meet my riding needs, which is mainly dinking around town. My other possibility is a KTM 790 Duke, aka the “Scalpel”. I’m...

Do I need to install the Quick-Shifter on my R3GT?

The up-down QS serves 2 purposes. The most useful for me is the auto blip when downshifting. This isn’t quick, per se, it’s just lazy.

Did it cut out before the software update? What year is it?

Had to let the Rocket go, my license is grateful!

I got one ticket on my 1st RIII some time between 2005-2010. I have since been wary enough not to speed in any situation where cops might be around.

Has your engine cut out randomly on the speed 400?

Good choice for crash bars for my 23 GT

My first Rocket III fell over 3 times while stopped. These tip overs were in slow motion. I had faux leather bags which significantly cushioned the fall and protected the exhaust. I had stock engine guards which worked well . Once, the shifter got bent but I bent it back in a vise.

They offer the PC6 through 2021 but not after. There are tuners who do fuel and timing using TuneECU.

The popping is caused by ignition of unburned fuel in the exhaust. Adding air, as SAI does, makes the burn hotter, so this increases popping. Do, get rid of SAI. I found that the O2 sensor accentuated decel popping on my 2005 Rocket. So I removed it and this helped. I had a full Jardine exhaust...

Did you remove the cat? How much popping are you getting?

So when you get the new headers, you need to get it dynoed again, right?. I don’t think the O2 sensor, SAI or EVAP limit max power. How would they do that? We know that derestricting the electronic throttle gives a ton of additional max power. You might want to remove the O2 sensor and SAI to...

Of course you can ruin the engine. I don’t get your point about racing. There’s still racing, no?

The AFR’s in the AFR table in the tune serve two purposes. The first is to calculate the amount of fuel to inject. That is, a value in the fuel table, which is mg of air multiplied by a constant, divided by the corresponding AFR. This gives mg of fuel. The second is to allow the ECU to go into...

There’s a rollover valve to prevent gasoline from flooding the canister in case the bike rolls over. Cut the tube (or replace it) between the tank and the rollover valve, extend it to the ground, rip out everything else, install the electronic plug and cap off each throttle body.

I doubt it disables it. The best way to find out is to ask Tom who manages the Tuneecu Facebook page or email the developer (Alain at meeouf@gmail.com). Tom says that the O2 box just suppresses error codes. But this involves the closed loop operation. The EVAP system could be different...

The SAI kit has an electronic plug for the connector to the solenoid, right? This prevents it from throwing an error code when the solenoid is disconnected. Did you disconnect the O2 sensors before unchecking the O2 box? If so, then it would have thrown an error code. Unchecking this box doesn’t...

Dyno numbers - 2.5inch Headers vs Stock headers

Not surprising they won’t use Tuneecu. I don’t know of anyone close to you but Carpenter Racing in NJ (I believe) and 2WheelDynoWorks near Seattle can do it. There are definitely others around the US. Any Dynojet tuner should be able to tune any EFI bike with a Power Commander (PC). They sell a...
