Sorry if this has been answered before. Couldn't come up with anything through search.

I only have the fob, not spare keys and that scares me. I ordered two spares keyed to my bike and that was a super PITA. Now I have to get them programmed.

Am I correct in assuming there's no other way than the dealer service tool to do this? TuneEcu can't do it?

Also, what should a dealer be charging me and how long does it take? Dealer near me said I'd have to drop the bike off for at least an hour and that it would cost $175. Does it really take that long? What have others paid?

I have the exact situation. I have the Key Fob only. Ordered the 2 keys from Iron Supply dealer in Katy, TX. They should be here next week. I was talking to the service manager and he said when the keys arrive, bring the bike in and he will program the keys for $45. He said they normally charge $95. I think you are getting ripped off at $175.

It should only take about 30 minutes, all inclusive, to register all three keys. In short, they erase the two missing keys, then re-register the smart key (10 minutes) and each passive key (5 minutes each). It sounds like they're ripping you off.

I don't remember this functionality being in TuneECU, but maybe someone else does.

I have a Scan tool & the option for coding keys is one of the functions - saw it yesterday actually. As for how long it takes, god knows.
Yes, love to know which tool and how much you paid? Seeing some online for $380 and they do other things for maintenance that TuneECU can't do (like complete ABS brake bleed). It would be worth it if I knew someone who had one and it works. If I'm going to spend $175 for the keys, an extra $200 for the ability to completely maintain my bike doesn't sound that bad.

ISCAN Triumph OBDStar is the brand & it's the Triumph specific version I brought. You can get the same unit to do a multitude of brands but not to the same 'depth' as a one brand specific unit. You can add additional brands to the scanner software but you have to buy them separately.

It can do a fair amount of stuff, but not read the Tune itself like TuneECU does. Think it was about $700NZD, but I managed to get it for $499NZD, dealer listed it wrong & I happened to snap it up at the wrong price.

It also does generic OBDII diagnosis for anything using an OBDII port, but not to the same detail level as the Triumph program.

Yeah, that's the unit I had seen. Thanks! Doesn't sound like you've programmed keys with it, but does it work otherwise? Since it's just a cheap android tablet, it's a shame someone doesn't just sell the software and cable. Also a shame no one has found a copy of the dealer diagnostic tool software floating around.

I haven't needed to program keys, so you're correct there. Yep it works fine, I think it's the dedicated / detailed software you pay for. It'll fit easily into my travel tool kit bag so I have it avail whenever I may need it.
