Turbo upgrade - "Budget" no longer applicable

Thanks @TURBO200R4 that info AND your experienced eye helped a lot, so very much appreciated! Not a hard decision though. I do not want to end up having to source a new final drive.. Ordered a new driveshaft + the special OEM socket to loosen the swing arm nut, new wheel rubber cushings and...

Turbo upgrade - "Budget" no longer applicable

@TURBO200R4 I'm afraid you were spot on on the wear, could you take a look at the cleaner version below? I'm just in disbelief..If worn down, how is it even possible to wear out the drive shaft splines in 38.000 km? It's been "jerky" if you don't know how to ride it since I bought it from the...

I have cleaned of course. Waiting for the solvent to evaporate before applying the molbyden paste. I guess the picture lies as the splines are OK. Which should be no surprise considering only 38.000 km very gentle mileage.

Giving the splines their first molbyden change while waiting for pistons and cams to arrive. Nothing alarming, much dry lubricant still there. Splines were prestine. I went out of my way to avoid pulling the studs and taped together a mix of a flex joint, extender and an impact gun. Not...

Thanks, appreciated! Yes, I know idle airflow far exceeds cranking air flow thus leaving very little if any air flow restriction during a compression test. But: Now I don't have to argue with those that remain firm in their belief that compression test == WOT BTW: My initial naive idea of a...

Yes, I went my all too often used route: Cheap fleabay one, questioning the readings and finally getting the proper tool for the job. Slow but steady learner

Liners have only seen 44.000 gentle, stock'ish kms so no new liners 😅 Compression was very good also. Piston change is just to replace eggshells with boost capable ones. But I got the virus now, so when I replace the starter turbo I got now with one proportional to a 2.3L engine, who knows what...

    Battery Draining Issue

My, admittedly much older Rocket III Classic has always sipped a tiny bit of battery juice since day 1. I did allow this to become much too important for too long until I reluctantly listened to advice and put it on a trickle charger when leaving it for days. Problem solved.

Head gone. Those head bolts gave me a hell of a fight Edit: Head removed while waiting for street mod cams and forged pistons to arrive. Next up is removing the oil pan and push out stock pistons. I already have new piston ring sets so I'll file ring gaps to "Neville specs" too.
