Turbo upgrade - "Budget" no longer applicable

Airfilter box out. Figuring out tubing routing. Definately needs some cleaning.

Turbo upgrade - "Budget" no longer applicable

I have been dodging that question because I actually don't know. All I know is that they are made to order for TTS by JEP, are forged and low comp for F/A (also confirmed by a JEP rep I talked with, which recommended the TTS route in the first place ) But actual CR? Seems to be proprietary info

Turbo upgrade - "Budget" no longer applicable

Yes, good point. I'm buying TTS well proven proprietary design forged pistons used in their stage 3 supercharger kit.s Made by JE Pistons and "way lower" than their off the shelf 10.1 to 1

Turbo upgrade - "Budget" no longer applicable

New camchain fitted. And just spent a fortune on low comp pistons and all parts needed to do a proper piston change job. I'm starting to realise what beast I have woken.

I will never use the words "turbo" "rocket" and "budget" in the same sentence again. Nope

RESOLVED: 3 weeks troubleshooting, still stuck

The incredible response and support I received during this ordeal speaks volumes. Giving up has never been an alternativ, but you fellows made the process a hell of a lot less frustrating. I feel priviliged to be part of this community. Thanks. PS! I will be even more of a pain when I get...

RESOLVED: 3 weeks troubleshooting, still stuck

I finally got the fresh from factory HT Lead kit. Fitted with new coils. The old beast never was very keen on starting at 0 degrees Celcius ambient and near 100% humidity, as were the condidions today. And nothing of the 1000's worth of hardware I have thrown at it over the last months have...

RESOLVED: 3 weeks troubleshooting, still stuck

Good vacuum readings on all 3 TB's. No leak between the head and the 4-way connector. But yes, I have sprayed starter gas both in and around the TB's. The MAP sensor is not fed any vacuum, I have measured. Near zero vacuum in the hose feeding the MAP sensor. And there is the problem. That, and...

RESOLVED: 3 weeks troubleshooting, still stuck

It could very well have been the problem. Been off with the head and front engine covers twice to check. Started a thread in another R3 resource specifically addressing cam gear position and got thumbs up. Finally got a precision compression gauge to be sure valve movements were correct...

RESOLVED: 3 weeks troubleshooting, still stuck

I did change the gears, but I can't see how I could get the very good compression readings that I do if the sprockets were off.

RESOLVED: 3 weeks troubleshooting, still stuck

I have a custom setup with high voltage coils and carbon HT leads (oe spade connectors are long gone) that is correctly routed. But I will revert to stock setup simply because I cannot eliminate ignition as a problem source.

RESOLVED: 3 weeks troubleshooting, still stuck

Update: All elastomers exposed to vacuum replaced with new OE. Measured vacuum in the MAP sensor hose: Near atmospheric. The only remaining part is the 4-way connector which I have coated with epoxy and pressure tested under water. However unlikely (to me) it must be leaking somehow. Also...

RESOLVED: 3 weeks troubleshooting, still stuck

I have done the fuel rail over bucket and crank test. All injectors gave a good and seemingly even spray pattern in turn as I cranked. I have also managed to measure vacuum going into the MAP sensor reliable. The MAP readings are correct, close to atmospheric. However unlikely it seems that the...

RESOLVED: 3 weeks troubleshooting, still stuck

I believe you refer to a picture of a very temporary test setup where I used 3 tees. in the absence of a proper aftermarket 4 way/x. That was just a test to see if the 4-way connector was leaking.

Ordrered OE 4way connector and in parallel a garden micro drip 4-way connector. Will fit whichever comes first. Fuel pressure OK. 43 psi when primed, slowly drops to 41, then 43 steady on idle.

Parts finally arrived yesterday. It took the Norwegian postal "service" 7 days to move the package 8500 meters from the terminal to me. Poor horse head availability stops me from placing one in the post director's bed. Fitted new transition pieces with new o-rings, new upper and lower injector...

The Norwegian postal service (there's a contradiction in terms) was unable to forward the oe parts this week, so no work done this weekend.

Yes, will do. I really hope to be able to isolate the problem and obtain a reusable, closed symptom - root cause - solution loop Hopefully someone can benefit later.

No, I have sealed the oe merger joints with 2 component epoxy and vacuum tested. It is positively airtight. BTW I have also ordered a glycol filled vacuum gauge. The readings I got from the cheap liquidless gauge were as you prediced all over the dial
