2012 bike, 6 days old with 270miles Not good
  4. Rocket 3R trying to START ITSELF !!

They allegedly found a split in the starter relay, making the solenoid pull in. Again allegedly fixed. BULL****!!! Here I am 2 months later and my tracker has never worked again. I’m left paying for something that doesn’t work. I keep being fobbed off, and never get a courtesy call or follow...

It will be trail by water whenever I get it back. Obviously the way it should be done according to the owners manual- plastic bags over the exhaust, levers & switchgear…. Can’t get those wet???

Thanks all. That’s assuring. Every day’s a schools day. Don’t get me wrong, I really do love this bike, and I’d like to keep it for a long time. I just worry about the longevity of the electrical / electronic side of things.

Yeah, that too. When I read about that I checked my oil level, it was way way over the max. Something you wouldn’t expect from new. Maybe it’s a common issue that takes out oil seals inside the engine.

Thanks for your information and support, much appreciated. Reading all the problems people are having with this model, I’m really worried about keeping this bike, ( it’s my 3rd triumph, my last one was owned for 12 years).

It’s such a shame that the savings aren’t passed onto the customers. At over £21,000 you wouldn’t expect this level of low quality. I’ve been fobbed off with the key fob out of range issue, and no explanation of the bike cutting out on me. These are obvious issues as discussed elsewhere on this...
  10. Rocket 3R trying to START ITSELF !!

I’ve since heard back from Triumph UK and the dealership, after chasing them with emails. They have said after further investigation they have discovered a crack in the starter relay case and this would have let in water, then engaged the starter motor. They are going to replace both. Not good...
  11. Rocket 3R trying to START ITSELF !!

Yeah, that about sums it up. They’ve now had the bike longer than I have had it. Sonde like they’re gonna fit a new starter solenoid and that will fix it….?? “That’s all fixed mate, working now” until the next time it rains…!! Maybe they’d listen if I posted all the scary videos I have of this...
  12. Rocket 3R trying to START ITSELF !!

Hi Martin, Yes, if the bike was in gear, it would have moved forward and fallen over. As it had bypassed any switching. The kill switch was in the OFF position and the clutch lever wasn’t pulled in. So hear position and side stand switch would also have been bypassed. Something energised and...
