Why is the touring class detuned?
Yep as they were a Harley look alike they had to lower the power in them so they would act like a Harley and try to steel some of the Harley business away . you can't have a look alike passing the Harley
On the down side Rocket men caught on and released it from her bindings. Now the Harley guys are just plumb scared of it and triumph lost a bunch of old fart sales
 
Hey now, no need to toss around the insults. Couldn't you guys just insult the R3T riders mothers or something else that isn't as inflammatory? No Rocket is ever tuned to be Harley rider friendly, they're still twice as powerful and will leave the Harley baggers in their dust even when Triumph lost their mind, and thankfully it's fixable.
 
when I go out of warranty I might have to perform the tune. My bike is running so smooth though detuned. is there any risk on reliability w/ the new tune?
 
so for a "basic" retune....what is needed? Mines a 2013. Physical parts to change as well (air cleaner, etc) or just an electronic tune?

Look up Power tripps deristricting tune under the touring threads, no mods required, just get the cord, plug it into your laptop, use the internet connection to search the web to get the software to activate the cord, plug into your bike, upload the tune, done.
