While the cats away....

You could try "Auto Glym paint restorer" great for removing fine scratches and dull or faded paint

Very nice mate. Test will be if you leave it like that for when SWMBO gets home or change it all back. Of course, either way you could be in trouble......
What about a small rack that mounts the same as the pillion seat?

And I wouldn't be rubbing or polishing the marks. You won't get rid of them completely and will just remove the finish from the guard.

It looks great without the passenger seat and such. Your family went to Mexico for a month?? How do I get mine to do that? I swapped my bearclaw for a chromed one.

Jim, try a little olive oil to remove the black marks. It works for left behind glue from stickers and also bug guts. Once it is gone, the oily residue is easily removed with soap and water.

Turtle wax makes an adhesive remover that works really well, that might be worth trying. Another thought is one of those clay bar kits. If those don't work wet sanding might be a last resort.

I thought it was gonna be sweet being a free man for a month, instead I've figured out that should my wife ever leave me I'd be a homeless degenerate in a month..... ;-)

Nice looking bike you have there Jim...try SIMPLE GREEN first it's biodegradable and has no hash chemicals. You'll be surprised how well it takes off stubborn stains.
