As you know I had my 2010 Rocket Tourer triked earlier this year, well Triumph have said that my 2 year warranty is void, so I will be doing my own servicing, so what oil would you knowledgeable people recommend for the engine and gear box.

Cheers,
John.

Mobil 1 MX4T full synthetic or an AMZOIL equivalent. Royal Purple also tested well. Biggest concern is that it has to stand up to the shear stress (oil breakdown) of the transmission.

Any well known brand oil that meets Triumph specs will do. After all,by the time your bike's engine is worn out,it will probably be on its 4th owner.
I think it more important to choose the correct viscosity to suit your climate and do regular changes ,than the brand.

Good TURBO DIESEL oil. I use a 5W40 for just about all my engines.

I have to agree with the turbo diesel oil. If not use a track oil as they do not worry about EPA rules and such. Joe Gibbs racing oil is pricey but great stuff also.

Been meaning to order some Joe Gibbs oil, can you remember which one it was for the Rocket?

Thanks every one for their help, anyway I went shopping yesterday and brought oil filter £10-50p.

8 litres of Silkolene pro4 plus 15w50, £100-50p

the oil was more expensive than I expected, if I'de known what I know now I could have got the oil off Ebay £90.

Just need some decent weather over here so that I can take the trike on a decent ride then service it.

Cheers again Guys.

John.
