Which exhaust? Need some advice

Ive fitted one of Dain's pipes to my R3T. Fabulous, grunty sound and noticeably more lift. Very pleased.

If you get a nonstock exhaust, you will need to change the tune. How are you going to do this? Assuming they would agree, the dealer might load the TOR tune for you. But you have no idea whether the TOR tune would match the Dain mufflers. For that reason, the dealer might not agree and Triumphcould void your warranty.

A Dobeck Performance AFR Plus should not void warranty. It is a wonderful device and a real enhancement to the TORs pipes.
The secondary throttle plate restriction and the ignition map varies depending on what gear you're in. The Dobeck allows you to fool the ecu into thinking the bike is always in a gear of your choice. In the new R3R tunes, there are high end restrictions to the secondaries in 4th and 5th, but not in 3rd. However, if you set the Dobeck to use 3rd gear, you will be stuck with the 3rd gear ignition table, which is retarded at the low end compared to 5th. This is not good. Unless the Dobeck can use one gear for the secondaries and another for ignition, this is not the route you want to take.

The Dobeck does NOT do what you are saying Dougl. It has nothing to do with the secondary throttle plates and ignition timing.

The Dobeck Performance AFR Plus uses a wideband closed loop O2 sensor and controls the AFR and modifies the signal to the fuel injectors. It increases power HP & TQ, controls AFR to where you set it in 3 zones and improves MPG.

Also i will mention as i went down this same road a few months back, the best thing to do is save your money, go buy a complete CES exhaust, ram air and Ozclaw which is designed by @ozrider looks awesome and makes a huge increase in power and torque loaded a @HansO dominator tune until she goes to dyno on wednesday. There is no point spending money on a system you will upgrade later anyway, waste of money IMO and i spent a long time asking everyone for cheaper options.

Right, I was thinking of the GIPro. The problem remains that the new tunes close the secondaries at the top end so no matter what you do with the fuel, you can't get the maximum HP out of it. As for peak torque, how much more are you getting than an unrestricted R3R with TORs?

Without making any changes to the stock tune (with restrictive secondary closures) with the Dobeck Performance AFR Plus I gained 19 HP and 10 TQ. And I felt it by the seat of my pants.

Nicko mate ,
seems your have been hooking in on the mods mate , let me know who does your dyno and how it turns out

I have Fred from pro cycles at slacks creek doing the dyno work apparently he gets very good results, will post the dyno sheets as soon as i have them. Also have upgraded suspension on its way

Apologies to @HansO it was @Claviger s tune we used.
