2014 Triumph Rocket Roadster
Hello everyone. I am new to this site, so I decided to ask the experts. I have a 2014 Roadster that is still under warranty. I want some better sound but don't want to spend too much right now. I have the $600 incentive to spend on accessories. Should I get the TORS until I am out of warranty or should I get the exhaust made by Dain? Anyone heard both and which sounds better, or louder? Also, I'm sure tuneecu voids my warranty, right? So I would need the Triumph tune either way? Lastly, does the Dobeck AFR+ void the warranty? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Limey, I am still waiting for a couple of my customers to send me some vids and sound bites. But I can tell you this, if you want loud, mine comes with a removable baffle if you want it louder. Also no one has had to remap with my exhaust as of yet. The bikes computer has been able to learn, so if you needed to take your bike in just put your stock exhaust back on. I installed an exhaust for a customer today and did so in less than an hour. Mine is louder then the TORS because it is a 3 into 1.

Thanks, Dain

My name is Brian
Ok, I started with stock, and I had about 127 horsepower at the wheel, around 140 at the engine. I put on a Zard exhaust expensive, but you never heard anything like it. I gained 17 horses, and then they took out the baffles, and gained another 3. Now I'm around 147 horsepower at the wheel, I went from a consistant 12.1 sec in the 1/4 mile to Mid to low 11's. Next I took out all my air intake, and installed RAM air. I'm going to take her down and have her tested, but I can tell you I gained more horsepower. She's fast, and sounds like a jet engine.

Dave if your not going to spend a bunch on mods until the warranty runs out I would just get the TORS and have the Dealer Load the map in it. If you use tune ecu right they won't know you have been in it. But for right now Dealers usually load the tune with the purchase and install of the pipes. I can not speak of Dains pipe as I have not seen it. without changing the header your limited to the power gain anyway.

Warp, hi for a start . Over here now with the new Triumphs when the dealer plugs in his tool he can read the reflash counter inside the ecu. I have had a customer or two tell me the Triumph techs have said if they see a lot of reflashes the warrantee will not be honoured. This is coming from a Tech I spoke to at the dealership as well. If one uses Tuneboy, the reflash counter is reset by one each time , according to Wayne, so this problem does not happen.

Ive seen and heard DAINS pipe looks nice and sounds good

Mornin Nev I am sorry to hear about that and am equally glad I have old ecu bikes!!!!! the I really suppose if he only has the 600 for Triumph I would definitely let the Dealer install the tune for the TORS so they keep track that they were in the ecu. I also guess it depends on the dealer and the particular mood they are in as to whether Triumph finds out. Kind of like the mechanic told me about my update kit on the Falcon. " that fancy Air Filter you have on it (the supercharger intake) has nothing to do with the front output drive bearing being in backwards!!!"
I wonder if Wayne can add some programming that takes the counter down one as soon as you load a map. That would be like using multiple tool compensations to lie to the controller.

I wasn't talking about doing the Tune ECU before the warranty runs out. The Dealer remapped my ECU to work with the Zard Exhaust. It is a lot of money, it was only a thought for down the road. Good things to come. The Zard and the RAM air very impressive. I had my bike 6 years before i put on the Zard. She still looks almost like new. 43,000 miles on her and runs great. Anyone who buys a Rocket, or Roadster bought a bike for life. Not meaning any insult to anyone. Only thought for later when you can afford it. or depends on what you want from it. The bike already has power, so anything you do to it, will only increase it.

A Dobeck Performance AFR Plus should not void warranty. It is a wonderful device and a real enhancement to the TORs pipes.

The new R3R tunes are unrestricted except for the top end. I haven't heard the new tors but the old ones sound great. So get the tors and make sure they load the tune for them.
