Greg,
Are you serious? If he makes it "bulletproof" it would add weight and slow "your" rocket down.
I'm sure it will be as road worthy as Chris' spoilers and Lons' "toy box".
Can't make anything deer proof.
will that be strong enough to withstand bumps, grinds and sudden unforeseen jarring from potholes and speed bumps?
I like it,but am leery of the above...
I don't think any thing is what you say above not even a tank, but it is really soild as best I could do
I was going to tapper my spoiler and side piece right under the engine to a point, but I thought it just might be to low for speed bumps and driveing it up on to my trailer.
So the spoiler and side piece is even with the bottom of the engine and tappered at the sides.
I tured sharp enough that my floor board as hit but my spoiler did not I don't think it would be possible to hit unless you turned shape and hit a rock
But when its all done and do get a nice paint job I'm going to have all the pieces on my Rocket covered with this hard clear plastic that they put on cars to stop stone chips.
Well I'm glade I put it on before painting it black when I put the fiberglass on it became to tight and I couldn't put it on.
But I got it on now a little still to tight just need to shave down a bit more before I paint it black.
So I took some picture's to show you guys what it looks like put together, before I paint it should I put some groves all the way through at the back on the side where it tappers? or should I just leave it plain?
I think I like it tapered like this instead of making it straight on the bottom and making it tapered around the back tire I think it might look to heavy.
What do ypou guys think?
Ok I have taken my rocket out for some rides and I'm scared my side piece will catch on fire being wood with a thin layer of fiberglass.
The top side gets hot but I can still touch it, I have only gone on small rides like 60 miles with a big bottle of water just in case it catches on fire how much hotter can these pipes get? I painted them with Engine Enamel ( Ceramic ) up to 500 degrees.
Will it get hot enough to catch fire if I went on a longer ride?
Right now there are no signs of melting Should I just get a thin sheet of polish steel and scew on top just to be safe?
I brought my rocket to my dealer and they thought it was really cool looking.
They said they don't think it will melt but to be safe to rap the pipes underneath and take the heat shields off. And also rap the pipes up with heat rap and put the shields back on, and that should be good enough. I also wouldn't feel so much heat at my legs as well.
So I ordered some black heat rap And to really be really safe I'm going to put a piece of alluminum up on top hopefully making it 100% safe.
Well I think soon I might do something with the bear claw- I think that needs a little more attitude.
I end up putting some alluminum on the back just to be safe
It seemed to be fine but being so close to the exhaust, this way will be more safe and it will take away the heat, so I was told and it looks good
Pig9r, I like the heat wrap it really takes a lot of heat away from my legs doesn't get near as hot.
If I carve you a turbo it will be just for show can't figure how to carve one that works maybe one day
