What should I expect from a 1" lower R3?

NativeOne was nice enough to post pix of my '05 R3, that should be delivered Saturday, here http://www.r3owners.com/viewtopic.php?t ... c&start=15
It appears to be lowered 1" in the rear and maybe in the front as well? I was wondering what I should expect as far as handling goes with my build of 5' 10" and 170 lbs.? Of course I'll find out once I ride it a while, but was trying to get a heads up from some of you.

Mine is down 1" and I'm 5'9". When it was stock height, I was on my toes.

Handling, hard to say because the improvement is related to the Progs front and rear.

Only down side is the side stand keeps it a little more upright.

Expect a slower turning response, though the pics don't look like the front has been lowered. You can lower the yokes down the forks a bit say 10 mm but make sure that both sides are the exact same amount. Although it is only lowered by 10 mm it will make for sharper steering response. As it is now you will have to put in some counter steer effort, bit like riding darkside but without the car tyre.

riding 2-up will certainly result in tire rub over bumps unless your rider is really small.

I lowered mine by an inch at the rear and also dropped the yokes as far as it would let me.It handled great and because i dropped the yokes also turned better.Only downfall is you will keep scraping the pegs.I got rearsets and milled the ends of to give me more ground clearance but still scraped em.Eventually scraped my exhausts so i put the standard lenghth wilbers back on it.Got to say its better with them on.Kept the yokes lowered though.Ive got BRM pipes on as well.

There BRMs with a slightly modified baffle.The standard baffle has a plate welded over the end and it makes the pipes sound a bit ticky tocky.So i sawed the ****ers off.Sounds great now. :lol:You wouldnt know it looking at it but theres £5000 worth of extras on that bike.
