What made you choose the Rocket?

What made you choose the Rocket over other bikes?

I saw a 05 Rocket in the parking lot of my favorite pizza joint in 2008. It had a stocky Bulldog stance that made my man parts tingle. I had to investigate further. A year later I travelled 400 miles to the LA area and bought a used 05 with less than 10K on it. It was a blast but it also had many issues. I sold it in 2013 and and was looking at the local BMW/Triumph/Ducati shop when I saw the 14 Rocket and had to have it. In 2019 I sold my 14 Rocket and decided on a black and white Triumph Speedmaster. I made the mistake of test riding the new GT Rocket. So there you go. My next bike will be the Speedmaster I'm fairly certain almost positive maybe.

I have a ‘85 Suzuki Madura 1200 sitting in the garage that started having clutch problems again and again. I haven’t rode it for 20 years. I had a heart attack Thanksgiving day two years ago. My wife convinced me to retire this year @ 65. I realized how much I missed riding and started looking around. My first ride two months ago was a R18 and I liked it but the right jug, brake pedal and a size 13 boot didn’t get along. My next visit was to an Indian dealer where I rode a Chief Bobber Dark Horse. Very nice. When I parked it after the test ride, there was a used Rocket 3 in the showroom as I walked to the salesman’s desk. “Whoa, what is that? Can I ride it?” Hooked. Well, they wanted new money for that used ‘21 so I decided to look around. I found my ‘22 GT with 741 miles for 18k in Toledo, OH. I flew to Detroit, Ubered an hour southbound, did a test ride, signed the check and rode home 6+ hours. Should of had it shipped. That was a month ago. Today I cruised eastbound around Cordell Hull lake, Granville with nary a sore butt cheek or shoulder. 228 miles. Long story but this bike is an amazing piece of machinery. People love to come up and talk about/compliment her. Lovely Rita (meter maid.)

I bought the big ugly skunk for the motor and it was very different. I built it up and it is a terror of a bike but it handle only so so. Power performance this bike has plenty.

When I was shown the pictures and the specs of the TFC I ordered one. It looks great and handles very well for such a big/little bike. Performance and looks on this one.

I had a 6'3 wife and a Vulcan 900. She said she didn't like it and that I needed to get a bigger bike, and was sent out with orders to buy the Vulcan Voyager 1700.
It's not often you get an opening like "You need to go get a bigger bike," so I decided to run with it and get the biggest bike.
It turned out it wasn't the Vulcan she didn't like as much as the guy riding it, so now I have the biggest bike and a 6'3 ex wife. (This is what's known as a win-win.)
