Hit the brakes too hard on the wet road, they locked up on me and the back tire slid out from under me. Too much speed and not enough experience while trying to get off the highway.
Proud of you for telling it straight. Speaks to your character and self confidence.
The bald tires and oil on the road loosening at the beginning of a rain were likely contributors as well.

This is why i support these folks from the City. Honest folks. Have communicated with them all and willing to help them out as much as possible. Some of you all could take some lessons. We are a tough bunch out here in Oklahoma. It takes a bit to admit you ****ed up. Hats off to you. Either way respect is earned not given. You all got my respect and help on getting it back together. Look at the bright side at least you ride.
Out on a 6 hour ride yesterday, mentoring a buddy who recently bought a new CVO Roadglide with the 117 ci engine. He hadn't ridden in 15 years before dropping around $50k on this machine and wanted some pointers. I had Pretty Pillion on the back and my buddy and I were linked with bluetooth comms. Half way we stopped for lunch and spoke about how one must be ready for maintenance at all times, even with a new bike like his.
We went out to return home and Brahma had no electricity at all. I said see what I mean. His eyes went went wide thinking the worst.
Now many of you know first hand I am no Ace mechanic. I told him the bike was recently in the shop getting replacement parts and I suspect the tech didn't tighten the battery cables enough. He and Pretty Pillion watched as I pulled the seat and then tightened the cables. Brahma came to life right away. A few minutes later we were off. We rode Hwy 211 over the Skyline pass each way and some other very tight mountain roads with 5mph down hill curves. All was well and his confidence Rose up a few notches. He put just over 500 miles on his bike by the time we got close to home. Then he dropped his bike at a stop sign.
In the end, he thanked me for all the advice, he will get to know his investment on an intimate level because of this he says.
Brahma's little stunt was perfect timing and my luck at diagnosing the issue made me look smarter. Being able to pick his bike up like it was nothing made me a hero he says.
My ego is refilled...

My crank position sensor came while I was off on a three day weekend bike ride, I really hope this fixes my misfiring when hot issue, I thought I fixed it three different times so far, lol. I rode a buddy's 91 Harley for the trip, he claimed it was an FLH, but I'm pretty sure it was a POS, but he was nice enough to lend it to me, I appreciate it.
I feel for @Son_Of_Dog as I recently had a similar experience.
Heal quickly Mate
I replaced the plastic base of my riders backrest for a piece of aluminium plate. Hopefully the last of the damage from my spill. Will give her a good clean and polish for Sunday's DGR.
