Yes, the Road 5 is the best front tire I've had on this bike.
I achieved Nirvana yesterday and got the tire pressures and shock settings near perfect.
The Hagon Nitros @ 11.5" with HD springs are independently adjustable but its very difficult to dial them in. With the 245/50ZR16 CT they are usually either too stiff or too loose or not quite balanced impacting tight cornering and/or comfort on our crappy roads. Just a minute 5 degree turn makes a major difference.
The narrower 140/80 Avon on the Roadster was nice too.
I wonder if the Road 5 in 140/70ZR17 would be the best of both worlds?
I'm being picky but it
seemed like the Road 5 dislikes the road snakes a little more than the Avons?? Maybe it was my imagination but they seemed to slip on the tar like Metzlers did.
I now have 25,000 miles of smiles on the Riken Raptor CT and I swear the last 5,000 miles were better than the first 5,000 as it seems to have aged like fine wine.
I really don't want to let it go but alas it has a screw stuck in it and its replacement is ready to go for the upcoming RAA West/Daytona Biketoberfest southern US tour.
Maybe just one more day!
