Warning Decals on Tank
I used my nails and then used the back of the sticker to pull off the glue. Afterwards, I used olive oil to remove the rest of the goo. Works on my new helmet too. Afterwards, use soap and warm water to remove the residual oil, then wax that baby.
 
Thanks to Y'all for the replies; seems I've got a variety of solutions to choose from!

Rick MrC, I guess if acid will work...you may as well go one step further and break out the 'ol Dremel
 
Boiling hot water ... "fork in this one" as Harry says .. no , not the tank
