Has anyone Vinyl wrapped a Rocket 3? After a long search (there's not many here in CA USA) I found a decent deal, but hate the paint scheme. I've wrapped bikes in the past, and I know each tank has it's own challenges. Anyone have any hints?
Thought about that, but paint has the disadvantage of hurting resale pretty bad on a bike like this and good paint work in CA is seriously expensive. There's also a lot more prep work than to wrap. I've painted many bikes and wrapped a few. Some bikes with complicated body work are a complete PITA to wrap. I'm thinking with the tank split in half by the bezel running down the center, that this "shouldn't" be too complicated. But won't know till I try. Sometimes bike tanks are easier to wrap mounted solidly on the bike, but that's why I asked for feedback here. We'll see....
Ive Had two of my GT's Wrapped...if you get a good operator its well worth it i feel...the tank is the challenge tho and thats where you want the protection from stones...some operators may choose to wrap the tank in two parts with a join running front to back halfway up the tank...
Looks like they wrapped right over the center strip on the tank. That's great, if they were able to do that, wrapping half at a time should be easy. Also looks like they left the tank in place. Do you see any areas at the bottom that didn't get covered completely?
Thanks a ton! This was exactly the feedback I was looking for.

Honestly all of this will be based on the skill of the installer. I had another 2020 Rocket 3 before this and even though the guy was working on high end Italian cars he did an awful job on my bike and it was lifting in the corners.
This time I used the dealership guy who works on bikes all the time. He even said the tank on the rocket is challenging. But I don’t see any corners lifting at all.

Thanks. Glad to hear the corners are doable without removing the tank.
Cars are tough because of the big panels. Motorcycles are tough because of the complex shapes. Two different skill sets. ANY TANK is tough to do in one piece. Only reason I'd attempt the Rocket tank is it can be done in two pieces
Just thought I'd give an update. Although it's not a tough wrap, the raised pin stripes under the clear coat very blatantly show through even the thickest wrap (7.5mil). After doing a trial with both matte and gloss wraps, I decided I would not get the results I wanted. At some point I'll take everything apart and have it sanded down and painted
