Utopia back rest for my R3T

Not sure how to put this but here goes:

I have 2 stock touring seats.I believe the one that is now on my 08T is a gel seat. I need a backrest bad and I just dont want to pony up over 500 bucks for the Triumph long haul seat and back rest. Utopia makes a rest for the classic but the classic seat looks thinner then the R3T seat so im thinking that it may not fit my T seat. What I would like to know is whether there are any differences in the Classic seat pan and the R3T seat pan. Also, Utopia makes a back rest for the Thunderbird and that seat looks pretty close to the R3T as far as thickness goes. Im wondering if those pans are similar to the T3T pans as well. Any thoughts or suggestions on this? Im calling Utopia tomorrow to discuss this further. Any input would help.

Not sure that you can use the gel seat since you have to cut through the seat and pan. Send them the stock seat to fab up something for you. Other than seat pan width and mounting differences they should be able to match close to classic tourer seat...

Pretty sure the Touring seat doesn't fit anything but the Touring and vice versa.

That's correct but if they have his stock touring seat they can fab the tourer/classic seat utopia bracket to match
