TX - Eureka Springs Trip

Texarkana is where we will hopefully all hook up and spend the night September 4th. Us West Texas folk will be meeting up at the Triumph dealer in Waco and heading to Texarkana. The Houston bunch is riding up Hwy 59, I believe.

I plan on leaving Sunday. I'll be stopping to spend the night somewhere and heading home on Monday. Using lot's of vacation time, but I don't feel like pushing it like I used to.. Haven't really planned out the trip home yet (that's not as much fun!) Depending on how it works out, I may ride to Shreveport, LA Sunday and spend the night there. I have some good friends there, but it's all up in the air at the moment.

I haven't made reservations yet either! (SLACKER), but I will next week.

TX

That is also our plan (minus staying at you frinds house in Shreveport) leaving Sunday some time and stoping Sunday night and finishing the last leg Monday. Not sure about Greg we haven't discussedthe ride home, I don't think but I will bet that was his plan also.

Thats what I wanted to hear, I didn't want to come back by myself.
I can relate to taking vacation days I'll have to take 4, I work Fri, Sat, Sun and Mondays.

that sounds like a plan to me also.

Did anyone know that highway 23 is called Pigs Trail Scenic
Byway I used google maps to map out Conroe TX to ES
then followed the route with it in terrain mode and satellite
mode, interesting. Couple hairpin turns/curves that could get you in trouble if your not paying attention. Altitude goes up and down, ought to be a kick in the pants, so to speak.

twistys, here we come!!!!!

yep sir,

that little road should be a good one. i'm just wondering about gas stops though. looks to be some long stretches of isolated road in some parts.

i'm really looking forward to this part of the trip....

HMMM, never even thought about gas will have to look into that, it wouldn't do to run out.

Bob

I don't think gas will be too much of a problem. I've been up to 180 miles recently and still had about a gallon left in the tank... There looks to be a few towns.

As much money as I spend there I don't care if he does or not. lol Like the weekend after next when I get a new front tire and brakes for the E.S. trip.

In truth he is probably thinking "oh boy! I wonder how much money will they spend in my store while they are waiting?!" I know I am already wondering what kind of new stuff he has that I can buy.
