TuneECU, ECU on Roadster is not responding anymore

I either get the timeout message or just unending recovery attempt at 0%.
It would be nice to eliminate the cable as a possibility ... but it takes multiple weeks to get it here from China. Anyone know of a domestic one I can have overnighted? Or have an extra one you know that works that you want to sell to me?

I'm just about outta ideas here. I disconnected the bike from the battery 10 min to see if that made a difference. It didn't, but the clock didn't loose the time either.

And from here ??

Do you get the "ECU connected but not responding" message as you have the cable connected and ignition turned on?

Mika

Yes, Mika, I do ... thanks for the continuing help guys. Hopefully I'll be able to ride my bike again sometime in this lifetime.

No problem, mate! Having been in the same situation myself I know what it feels like.
Almost crapped my pants as my ECU stopped responding... Luckily I got recovered in less than an hour (which felt like a very long hour...)

One more shot: have you tried starting ECU recovery from menu? If I remember correctly,
I first started the recovery process from the pop up window, then a few times via menu without turning ignition off between recovery attempts.

Mika

Because it usually goes into recovery and doesn't come out, I don't get a choice to use that menu. If I cancel the recovery popup, then I can use the menu. I've done this many times in testing.
Lucky me, I started this whole process about 22hrs ago. Oh boy am I having fun.

MikaK and jaredmt,

You have already heard that there give a new version? version 1.6.6

BR, Tom

Oh yes .... I've tried recovery using 1.6.6 about 15 times. I have a new cable coming in as fast as I can get it to test (though my current cable is brand new)

(The cable has a blue LED that sometimes turns on and sometimes not ... anyone else had that?)

Even if the cable is new, this is not a guarantee. Just Chinaware.

Can also be a problem of internal power supply for the USB ports.

Test it on other computers.

Use Antivir software e.g. Kapersky? Down with the stuff that only makes stress.

Switching off is not enough, the Antivir software must be uninstalled.

My cable has a LED too, but it turns and stays on as long connected.
