Anyone try to copy a text file or excel spreadsheet file and paste it in TuneEcu?
I know you can copy tables, and paste them from within the program. and you can export the tables as text files.... but now I have merged 2 ECU maps in Excel and what to put the files back in tuneecu and it will not, on my computer at least allow me to paste.

Spent a couple hours merging these maps and now I can not get the new map back in tuneecu without doing it cell by cell .... which will suck....

Maybe an incompatable format or file structure, checksum error have you tried contacting the TuneECU guys for advice ?

I sent an email to Alain yesterday. Just seems funny that the program will export a text file but will not import one or accept that format for a paste.

My knowlege is limited but I know when editing using certain softwares that formats can change the structures thats why I always use basic notepad when I can to try to keep the edit raw.. but having said that it could be something simple, did you edit and save to a new memstick to keep it together rather than to your hd.

I am curious to know why you are merging 2 maps ? could be a little risky.

I saved the files on the hard drive, and did try to pass them through notepad to remove any formats that might be left from excel.

I have a map that dtgiese gave me from his bike which I have been running in my bike for the past couple of months, another I tried this past week I downloaded from the tuneecu site. The decel popping was like gun fire from the higher rpm ranges. The auto tune was making an impact on it but....

So in what well may be a hair brain idea I exported all the tables from both, put them in excel and any value that did not match the corresponding value in the other map I averaged between the 2. One map was from Wayne and the other was done at Tovami Tuning in Holland

Mmmmmm :( your a brave man..
Excel contains many cell formulas for its own auto calc. maybe not so good to edit your merge application.
Save yourself the head ache and load in a stable tune for your set up PCv will give you the best optimised tune I think or use one from Hanso the Oracal ;)

JMO good luck Sir :)
