Tuneboy Speed Limiter for R3T

The speed limiter on Tuneboy is 205 kph. Has anyone attempted to hack the program to raise the speed limiter?
 
It's not a feature in Tuneboy. Rumor was that Wayne from Tuneboy was asked by Triumph to delete this feature for the R3T because of the low speed rating of the tires.

It is in the Tune Edit program. It is under Tune Constants. I heard the rumor that they asked Wayne not to raise the limit that they had put on it. I just want to try and take the cap off. I don't know if it is possible or not.... It is just something that I am putting out there.

Perhaps if Triumph had put proper speed rated tires on the R3T, they could do away with the limiter. Now, there's a thought.
 
Wow, Triumph talked to Wayne, that's pretty cool.

Most of the time, manufacturers blow off guys that come up with mods.

I understand the liability aspect of it but I think Wayne should add a check box that you must confirm that you have tires that are appropriately speed rated for what you are adjusting it to. If you don't confirm, you can't change it.

This ends all responsibility of Wayne and Triumph.

Personally, this is a big turnoff for me with a TuneBoy, the idea, or at least my understanding, is that I could have control. With no limits imposed by anyone.

I haven't been able to find any tires in the correct size that are rated any higher. And, having had the R3T just past 125 I'm not sure I'd want to go any faster. Unlike my BMW K1200RS which seemed to settle down at higher speeds, the R3T starts to feel a bit squirly up there.

That said, I don't like pre-set limits either. If that's what Wayne had to do to get Triumph to give him the stock tune then I understand. I suspect someone will find a way around it.
 


I am kind of with you on this. I have had mine pretty fast but I didn't get the touring to go fast. I do like quick however. If I am going to race I will take my Trophy.
