Hi Guys,

I have a 2011 Rocket III Roadster and have just replaced the leaking cam cover gasket.

I'm trying to get the bear claw re-attached to the tank but bizarrely can't think how it goes back. The rear bolt is in, the rubber slots nicely into the tank tabs, but the front bracket doesn't fit no matter how I try and place it. I'm thinking that I've dropped an additional bracket maybe and can't find it? I've tried to have a look at the schematics but they're not very clear.

Here's the underside of the tank.

Here's the remaining bracket I have.

Any help/advice from you guys would be greatly appreciated as it's sunny and I'd like to go for a ride!

dont know if this will help
when installing the lower bolt that holds the claw on goes in at the front is paralell to the bike
head is at front so that bracket would be pointed with the nut part down and the rest pointed up .
hope this helps i can take a pic when i get home

Thanks TURBO200R4, that is really very kind of you indeed.

The trouble is, when I put it in that position it won't fit the claw. The tab on the claw is at a different angle to the tab on the fuel tank bracket.

Am I missing an additional bracket, or has the tab on the bear claw been bent?

I was never very good at jigsaw puzzles.

There is only one bracket for front and one for the rear.
I don't know if possible but I will try to take pics to show the angles of the bolts.
If the center bracket is not where it belongs then that will through off the front.
Stay tuned for pics.

Well, mystery solved. The tab on mine was bent. I don't know how it got bent, I've owned the bike practically from new.

Thank you so much TURBO200R4, those pictures made it clear. Big bar of Toblerone waiting for you if you visit Switzerland. I've not been to Arizona but I do have a cactus plant in my house which I've named Harry Sonar in your honor.
