Bear with me. So I do have euro spec envy for having the option to turn the headlights on and off, and just running the DRL. Been thinking about how to convert my ( US model) since I bought the bike (back in July), and it seemed to be a daunting task with all the wiring in the front fairing. Then read a post on here that someone tried with the oem euro switch and it did not work b/c canbus. But I still let it brew in the back of my head. Then I started reading up on TuneECU and people were saying you needed to pull the headlight fuse to prevent any battery drain during the rewrite; and that pulling said fuse still DID NOT TURN OFF THE DRLs.
So my cogs started turning on the idea again. Basically, pull the headlight fuse and headlights go off but DRL stays on. Put power to the headlight power wire at the fuse, and headlights come on. So since I'm smarter than the average bear, I said to myself; well if I put a on/off switch to cut the power to the headlight power wire at the fuse box then I can switch the headlights on/off and run just the DRL when I want to. And what do you know?...yes it work !!!
EDIT: well spoke too soon, went to do the final wiring and the signals are on the same circuit as the headlights. so no headlights then no signals. But since I already set up the relay switch; will try to bypass the low beams at the headlights and see if it will work that way without having to wire in a resister
