Anyone know a good contact at Triumph Aust.

I have an issue with Japan emission regulations and I need a JP compliant ECU map and PPM emission figures for my 05 Std. to get my bike through a strict JP emission check for on road registration.

PITA I know but I really want to take the bike with me.
I tried a guy in Japan but he will only give me the required COC document, no **** help at all.

I think this is going to be a real challenge with a used bike..

Maybe you'll need something like the set up for California. Stock tune, stock exhaust and charcoal canisters, that sort of thing. PITA sounds about right. Have you seen the vid of that bike with custom exhaust in Japan? Big build up and great sound. When he rides off he joins in the queue of traffic and putts down the road barely idling.

Dennis give Chris at Triumph Australia a call , he will be able to give you the info or put you onto someone who can. His number is 0393819754.

Thanks Trev brilliant.. it's gonna be a real headache I know but it's a great bike and part of me, I would hate to have to sell it

I have to conform to strict JP emission standards which is easy on a new bike, I am trying to get the PPM figures but my only contact in JP is a Triumph dealer service/parts manager and he don't wanna help..

I'll start with Chris, see how we go.

Found out yesterday from my Vin# that it was destined for the Swiss market originally so it has a real Catalytic Converter box where as most other countries AU NZ US UK etc. in the early 2000 manufacture just have an Exhaust box, no strict pollution laws apparently

Anyway onwards

I think its the the Swiss tune as the bike was originally built to Swiss requirements, they had the early emission standard law back then but I know CA maybe are the same.

Problem for me is tuning a 41000 k engine and not having an expert onside mate.

Didn't see the Vid but traffic is a little better in the country, it's the population they get in the way

Dennis, you moving for good bro?
Beautiful country is Japan.

**** the deeper I dig for info. the worse things become.. PITA

I believe my pride and joy is slipping away due to cost, time needed and pre testing

Bloody Disappointing to say the least

May have to remove accessories and ship them and start again I suppose
