Track Day Pics

I don't understand why ya'll aren't using car tires!

Using a car tire..... you would have had better traction..................

Would love to try it, but some pencil neck retard in the Gubmint made it illegal here in NZ.

Tyres and wheels - NZTA Vehicle Portal

Specifically "f) a tyre that is not suitable for a motorcycle, eg a car tyre fitted to a class LC motorcycle"

Joker, where have you found a place to do track days in the UK that doesn't involve dressing like a Power Ranger??

Mr Idaho RR, is that a wisp of grass I detect hanging from your machine Good work.

Yes it could have been from when I went straight off the track instead of turning into Turn #1 after a VERY high speed straight. I was getting to about 110 MPH in the straight in front of the pits. I wanted to hit 120 MPH in the straight. To do it I had to extend the time/distance needed to achieve 120. That gave me more speed to get rid of and less time/distance to slow down before the turn. My back brake momentarily locked up so I had to pump it and could not slow down enough that I felt safe to lean into the turn. So I just went straight. There was plenty of room to slow down more before leaving the track and I was able to turn on the grass and get right back on the track.

I picked this track to do my first Track Day because it has so many turns and is surrounded by open space flat grassy areas. I figured if I had to run off he track it would be OK and safer to do so. I was right.

This at the beginning of the straight. You can see the open spaces next to the track in the foreground.

Idaho Red, look at the profile of that front tire, it's screaming "HELP"

I noticed that too when I got the pictures. When blown up you can see it is an optical illusion from the shadow. Zoom in and you will see the tire is performing perfectly. And it looks cool to see the front and back tires like that.

I was more concerned about the grass or straw hanging off the motorcycle. Must of went off track a few times... see that car would have eliminated that.... lol
