I got a set of TOR's for my bike. Have not installed them yet. Was wondering if it would be OK to install them and then ride it to the dealer (80 miles away) for the new tune. Someone told me that after the TOR's are installed that I shouldn't ride the bike until I get the new tune at the dealer. I've been putting off the installation 'cause I'm dreading loading the beast up in my truck and making the 160 mile round trip for the tune.
RIDE IT OR HAUL IT ?

Thanks !!!!

I wouldn't worry about the ride. Just don't run the RPMs too high, she'll run pretty lean. An 80 mile cruise won't cause any harm.

TOR's tomorow

I'm right with the everybody on this r3t forum . Everybody want's the same thing.took my 09 (by the way thought I bought an 08 vin says 09 thank you very much) anyway took it in for 500 mi. , metz recall.and tor's,and retune.hope to be happy with the result for now. Probably not done.Very happy with this bike,I can't stop riding, thinking, or reading this forum.I traded my 06 tiger.Very fun bike to ride.I will miss the top end speed, and the throttle wheelies, and the corners come to think of it . But this R3T has something I enjoy. Every bike is a comprimise. That looks like a cat to me, and I'm getting rid of it.

Miss what?

Miss top end speed?? Jeebus! Just how fast do you need to go?!?!:D

Throttle wheelies.... You got em', try em'. Except for the rear wheel hooking up, wheelies are really easyily attained.:p

As far as cornering,..... I have both edges worn off a bran' new front Avon from RAAIV Maggie Valley this last weekend plus a couple of worn floor board feelers.

Now as far as riding wheelies down the hiway at 80????? I don't think so.

happy with upgrade

Just got it back. Tor's and retune. I might stop right here. Much better!also new metz's no vibes at 95.I think I'll ride for a while. I love this bike. I wanted one since the spy photos in 04.Green lights and Blue sky's.

There's a few things that can be cheaply done to bring some excitment to the table!!
I did TORs and the K&N pod filters.. Spent some time on the dyno and it's a different bike... Great top end and the instant throttle response at parking lot speeds is almost scary..

Yea, she's a big girl, but for a 900# bike it handles really well.. The suspension is great, ground clearnace is excellent for a bagger with boards.. Even keeping pace with a band of Ducs and some squids in the WV mountain switchbacks of RT33 I only scraped the baords a few times..
