In my 30 years as a career Firefighter/Medic, I picked up more then a few motorcyclists.  I even got to use a Hurst tool to separate one rider from his machine.  Many cried as they complained of the burning of their extremities, explaining Road Rash to them at that time was a little too late to help.  After destroying my 05 Rocket back in 2016 on an interstate South of Nashville, I came to appreciate the benefits of wearing the full gear.  The helmet did its job, as did the other items I was wearing.   Ill continue to wear the gear.
