Tire question

2009 Triumph Rocket III Classic
Do I have to do anything to move to a 240/55R16 rear on an '09? The 55s are about $180 cheaper than most 50s I'm seeing.

Just put it on and enjoy
The excedra is one inch taller so it will raise the back 1/2 inch and it will move the speedo a little closer correct.
 
Thanks, guys. Those 240/50's are stupid expensive. Appreciate the help. Didn't want it rubbing inside the fender.
 
Most 240/50R16's I'm seeing are $375 - $400. 240/55R16s are about $225-$275.
 
It will also handle much better due to the shorten rake from raising the back up. You can also go to a lower profile tire in the front and then you'll be amazed at how well that big girl will handle beneath you.
 
Maybe it is just me but it seems like I was always dragging in the corners so i went back to the 150. And all is good.

Due to the lower profile on the front? Did you try different tires? I wonder if that would make a difference or if it was just the lower profile?

I am assuming it was the lower profile
all i ever tried was the Avon cobra 140
I now have the 150 Avon cobra chrome which seems really good.
