Or get the premium ABS model for an MSRP of only $13,799USD in the US and $16,399CAN in Canada.

I went to my dealer yesterday and they said ther was a performance kit available for the Thunderbird to put it over 100hp
But now your talking the same money as a Rocket

Gunshots...just out of curiousity...was your dealer any more specific about what the performance update consisted of?...What effect would the update have on the OEM warranty?...S.B.

Yes, but presumably much lighter than our Rockets...
I have a deposit on the first Thunderbird my dealer is able to order.
I intend to order it (if possible) with the 1700cc upgrade kit iinstalled from Triumph.
Before, they were saying the new bikes would be available next June but now, speculation is Thunderbirds won't be released until next August
Glad I live in Calif. where we ride year 'round.

Mentioned only Intake/exhaust mods as in TOR's & K&N not much else, It always gets costly when I start askin questions.

Received the latest Thunderbird e-news today.

They reckon the T-bird will be at the forthcoming Daytona bikeweek in the flesh.

You can sit on it and take pics but no test rides........................hmmmm!?!?!?!?

Be one of the first customers in North America to see the all new Thunderbird! Triumph America has made special arrangements with the factory design department to fly a handful of prototype Thunderbirds over for Daytona Bike Week in Daytona Beach, Florida! These units are for display purposes only and will look exactly like the production bikes! Specially accessorized Thunderbirds will be available to show you how far you can go to make one your own!

Customers will be allowed up close and personal access to these display bikes. So if you need to see it for yourself; feel how comfortable it is to throw a leg over; and talk to the factory team about the features and accessories, NOW IS YOUR CHANCE! Make plans to visit the factory demo truck at the Daytona International Speedway from February 27th through March 7th. The bikes will be on display at our factory demo truck located at 1801 International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach, Florida!

Gas tank, mileage, mbe

I really appreciate your reports from on-the-spot. Thanks!
It's a blizzard out here tonight in Northern California near Mount Shasta and reading about the T-Bird has me remembering about a ride in Idaho on '75 Trident I had when came within an ounce of running out of gas. Running on fumes.
So could you find out:
How big is the gas tank?
What kind of gas mileage are they projecting?
From that we could figure out Miles Before Empty.
Another time with that Trident, ended up walking it in to the gas station. Drilled out the exhaust baffles, rejetted the carbs, and got a cool 15 mpg!

My Rocket III gets 35 MPG and I'm a fast rider. I'm sure the T'Bird will do as well as a R3.
