Thoughts on trailering

As long as it came back down on the trailer hitch. . .

The U haul trailer is very stiff and safe to get in and out off. I have used it too. Led to just buying a small enclosed that fits in the garage. I trailer for the same reasons you do. BTW that bike looks great. Where did you get the shifter pedal?

Thanks. The shifter pedal was on the bike when I bought it.

BTW, for those wanting to rent the U-HAUL motorcycle trailer, it does fit a Rocket. For some reason on their website they list this trailer as only 7' 8" long. Not true and there's at least a foot to spare behind the bike. Only $14.95/day.

You forgot to mention your level of arthritic pain

Since you have a workshop and know how to weld, you might consider making the ramp a couple of feet longer so the angle at the top won't be too steep. Unhitching the trailer would let it roll as you load the bike, unless you have wheel chocks for the trailer.
