I have a R3R with Jardines, PCV and under th seat K&N. I had it tuned at a local shop. After over 2 hours on the Dyno, the Tuner was able to get it at 140hp and 141tq. He was able to smoove out the power curve, and it has great pull, but after reading multiple posts on Triple KNs I am thinking of pulling the trigger on some. I am also wanting to undo the retarded timing, as well as squeak some more HP/TQ while still using PCV. (you can never have too much!
)
I have read about using Tune Ecu in addition to PCV, but have also read a lot about the GiPro. Below are a couple of options I am looking at. I confess I am a newbie at tuning and mods, so I am looking to all the experienced Captains here to offer any advice, experience and pointers.
1) Install Triples, remove secondaries, and install GiPro, and have another map done at the Dyno
2) Install Triples, use Tune Ecu to open secondaries, eliminate timing retard (if possible), and install Auto Tune
With regards to option 2, will auto tune use my existing custom map and adjust off it to compensate for the triples? With a custom map at my tuner costing 300 bucks where I live, the Auto Tune would pay for itself, but I don't know which would produce better results.
