If your Rocket is still at the curb. You should tape a $100 bill to it and just maybe they will take the rocket too.

Now, to a real serious question........How is my awesome Kaw doing these days Haven't seen her in awhile.

She's resting comfortably under her banky in the pole barn.

So this backrest bolts straight into the Triumph Touring seat

Yeah into the Classic Touring seat that fits early Std, Classic and 2010 on Roadsters. The 08 0nwards Touring model Rocket has its own version that does not fit the other models. I have yet to confirm if the backrests themselves are interchangeable as they both slot into a square hole in the seat itself.

NOTE the backrest was sold separately to the seat itself, and the backrest is no longer available. So you have to find one 2nd hand and the owners are very unlikely to split their seat and backrest. If you are lucky you may get one where the seat was damaged in a fall and backrest still OK.

I ended up getting a seat with backrest 2nd hand in perfect condition on ebay and you should expect to pay $300-450 but I have only seen 2 in the last 6 months.

If you have some skills your may even be able to fabricate a riders backrest stem and bracket to fit the square slot and fit a generic backrest from China for AUD$10-30 delivered I have posted elsewhere.

In Australia:
AUD$172 from JCS in Perth will ship anywhere in Australia for $10

A9708158 This supposedly the part number for the Touring model Rocket and Thunderbird Longhaul seats is a very similar system.

The correct one for 'Rocket III Roadster' is here: A9708160 which also has the numbered wheel angle adjustment system as in photos of 'Touring Rocket III' version below

U owe me
I have just been out in the rain under 5 degrees in my T-shirt and lifted the cover and took my seat off my Roadster.

The backrest mounts the same way as the Touring model with 4 bolts in the base and is identical to this image with adjustable height, fold forward upright, fold back cushion i.e. to form a 'T' side on and the base has the 6 position angle adjustment wheel as images above.

Longhaul Rider Backrest
Spring loaded and folds forward for easy passenger access.
