Suggestions please

I bought my son-in-law a Stebel Horn for his rocket III. And I need to know where to put it. It is the chrome one so if it shows it really won't matter, but I would like to hide it anyway. Have any of you installed one? Any suggestions as to where / or how to mount it? Thanks in advance for your help.
BTW, I plan to install it while he is out of town and then ask him to impress me with that manly horn again. It should knock his socks off when he hears 139dB sound off.

First off welcome to the site, you will find a "gold" mine of info here. I'm sure someone will chime in on the steubel horn installation or you can try the search feature. I see you have a 06 Gold Wing, same year I had. Both (the Rocket and Wing ) are great bikes.

I too used the under the left side cover method. I've seen a post, somewhere herein (on this site), where a ingenious individual separated the pieces. The horn from the bellows and mounted the horn outside of the muffling of the side panel. I believe it required some extra tubing. Their chrome model Stebel or equivalent horn surely blasted louder than the full united unit under the side panel. In any case the Stebel is far better than the peep peep of the stock horn. The air generator/bellow is suppose to be mounted vertical. It they wanted it mounted horizontal to the get the full 139 count they'd have said so...I believe. And I visualize the line on the side of the airbox is pert-neer level.

Thanks Fellows. I installed one on my VTX1300 a few years ago. I'm sure I'll figure it out. I like the pic of the one mounted under the headlight. But I would be afraid it would bottom out on the finder . Because it's not my bike I would hate for that to happen. I'll do a little expermenting and let you know.

I assure you, the 139 Stebel under the side panel is freakin loud. Although! If some other ingenious individual devised a "mount", somewhere... where a pair of Chrome airhorns could be mounted. Perhaps in the void left with the "silencer upgrade". A set of Stebel horns blasting like a freight train that could play Dixie as well.:bch: cud be mounted.

And you're quite correct: "Stupid Hurts". #2. But I assure you arrogance is far more damaging.
