I have looked around, perhaps I missed it, but is there a header to replace the stock one in a roadster? I have the staintune crossover coming and tors on it. I don't want to scrap the whole system, but it would be nice to have a header that will mount up to the staintune (since that replaces factory xover - should have same fittings)

Thanks

Nope.. there's not a header commercially available that will exactly replace the stock header. The Jardine header does not exit at the same point nor is it the same diameter as the stock header..

Actually, we call the stock header an 'exhaust log' as christened by Flip.. lol

Hanso and Evil Mitch both have a header that replaces the stock one but they were specially made. One of them might flick you some info.

Sam "travelguy" on this site" made both mine and hansos headers and alot of other great systems getting around the known world but unfortunatly he has hung up the gloves on the header building mate.

they are ceramic coated stainless steel with stainless heatshields also ceramic coated. I have them mated up to the staintune crossover and pipes on my r3 standard

there is a pic on my profile i think or on the dynojet pcv thread post #83

Dang... I think he should make one more! :D

There are plenty of places around that will make u a custom set its just hard to find one that wont take u to the cleaners on price in the meantime especially with stainless.

I gotta say though if Sam did make headers and exhaust systems for a living i would definitely recomend him to everyone . fantastic workmanship and a great bloke to deal with . My headers will be on my beast for the rest of its years and even when she is retired to the shed forever in years to come she will still be sporting those magnificent headers

unfortunately Sam can't respond, he's "locked out" over here.
but I'm sure he'd appreciate knowing everyone still thinks
he's the best at what he does, and I'm also sure he might make another set........;)
Besides mine that is, because mine are being made as we speak.:bch::bch:

gday fellas..... Headers that'll bolt straight on to a roadster are currently in final design stage. I have donated my bike as the R&D mule so a jig can be made up and will help keep the cost down for all you bastards! :D

Anyway, great thing is the boys are hoping to get a genuine RWHP increase of about 30% from stock with a full system and tune.....that is unfathomable bang for buck and especially just for bolt on.

The header is obviously not stock ID but depending on what you're chasing as cans you might be ok to ask to drop the size to accommodate.

The fella has made a few systems for some guys in NSW but apparently had to make it fit there slip ons so obviously he can make anything work and cannot wait to see, hear and feel the difference.

PM me if you would like to keep updated with details. it'll be another couple weeks before the jig is setup and finished.

Will let you know how it goes.
