For the non-R3R owners, pics often look like the stock exhaust has a big gaping maw:

In actuality there is a plastic end-cap there occupying a large portion of that area.
Has anyone pulled that off to see what's up under there? I'm curious as I would prefer a huge dark hole. But yanking it might reveal a bunch of baffles 'n such instead.
I partially drilled out the baffles on my M109 and would consider doing so on the R3R, but am not wanting to add loudness when I can avoid it.

In matters like this, I tend to let someone else go first ... especially if I don't have another one laying around just like it. lol
I'm curious about that myself since I eventually want a set of Roadster TOR's for my '08. Since there are cats built into the other end of the cans, I'd believe just about anything could be hiding in there. A Triumph exec said the exhaust is where the extra numbers for the Roaster come from, I don't believe him for a second but it makes you wonder don't it? If you do take the plunge, let everyone know what you find in there.

Yeah ... same here. And I mis-spoke, it isn't plastic, it's metal. Not only that, upon close inspection there is no seam between the chrome of the outer-exhaust and that black-painted area. No seam at all .. one chunk of metal it would appear.

They are typically rolled together so that it makes a permanent seal to resist corrosion. It's cool that the Roaster exhaust doesn't have the replacable ends, it gives it a cleaner appearance and less places to collect grime that makes rust under them and around the screws. But because of that it must be a sealed one piece part. I wouldn't have the balls to cut into one unless I knew exactly what was going on inside. Thats why I'm curious, I expect there will be alot of them lying around from upgrading to TOR's and I'd like to have a pair to modify for mine. I love the big fat dual look but I still need some with backpressure similar to my TOR triples. I've got a full set , headers and all from my stock set I'd trade for some stock duals. Maybe someone will prefer triples on their Toaster.
