Sonny's 1975 RD 350 story ;) :):whitstling::cool:

1975 RD 350 bought brand new. Walked across the street from M.C.R.D. San Diego and bought it graduation day. Rode it solid for about three years. Traded in for a 1978 750 Honda. To this day still think about that little orange bike and smile.
Not many really rode the last of it's kind. Two stroke made for the street. You don't disregard that. By far the most memorial bike i ever rode. Everything else is just water under the bridge.

I much prefer the Yamaha RZ350 Kenny Roberts Special of 1985 (didn't have one though), and my mate had a RZ500 with the 16" front wheel briefly - a port city Darwin with only one straight 2 lane road out of town was not a great place for a V4 500cc 2 stroke GP bike clone ;) :whitstling::whitstling:

Many thanks. Bike was awesome. Best i could do after three months of recruit training . Did ride home on it. Had a girl that i always had the hots for on my break from boot camp and advance infantry training and she went out on a date with me. There i was on a date with A high school cheerleader that never gave me the time of day before hand. Funny how that worked out. She just keep on running her mouth. At a stop left her at the intersection. Bike went up she fell off. Never looked back. still laughing about it to this day. She went on in life to be come a expert in Criminality. Got her PHD. My little sister and her wrote a book together. Little sister has high year ten year at the university in Maine. We all met up a few years ago. Turned out i was a thesis on some of both on there way to gaining there PHD. Still exchange Christmas cards. Met her in person about a year ago and we both had a good laugh. She looked at the Rocket after offering a ride and gave me the finger. We all had very respectable a lot of beers and good conversation. The ride from the high desert in California to the river that never happened but in my mind from the Mushrooms we ate was something else. So many good memoirs from that little orange bike.
