I installed a solo seat and rider backrest on Rosie last night. I can't wait to give her a test run with it. It appears to be a bit more plush than stock and I was perfectly happy with the stock seat. I mainly just like the look of a solo seat. I also another motive. I ride with a fairly large group (usually 10-20 bikes) and often someone's wife or significant other will have a "friend" that's tagging along in their car or whatever. I wish I had a nickel for everytime I hear "Hey Daryl, would you mind if my friend rides with you so she can feel like part of the group?". First, I'm married and Mrs RocketDaryl ain't real understanding of that sort of thing even though she knows it's not about flirting or whatever. She just thinks she should be the only one wrapping her arms around my small, but ample mid section. Second, other than her (I don't mind her riding on back), I'm not a big fan of riding passengers. I could just see the dumbass try rationalize how it's my fault if they end up burning their foot or something. Simply put, I say no. But of course, that leaves me looking like the bad guy.

Well friends, there's an easy answer and it looks great!

Solo Seat = Bother someone else you cage driving troll!

I also dont like to feel imposed about taking/giving someone a ride!!I just tell them that I am not comfortable with riders and refuse to take responsibility for their safety..

I too have the solo seat and backrest on my new R3T. I've only got 600 miles on the bike but can already tell it needs additional help. I made an appointment with a custom saddle builder, Don Weber, out of Albany, OR. I used Don's skills on the custom seat for my previous bike, a 2005 BMW R1200RT. I rode about 50,000 miles with his seat and never had any complaints. He mentioned that he'd done a number of Rocket saddles and has a good handle on what needs to be done.

I agree with the solo saddle to keep passengers off your bike. Although I've comfortable carrying a passenger I frankly would rather enjoy the sights on a ride by myself. Best of luck to you.

Now that you have the solo seat installed, you can remove those passenger floorboards. IMHO it really looks much better with them removed.

c'mon guys

So you guys dont want to take girls on the back! You should be ashamed ! If its a nice looking girl, you gota give her a ride boys, (married or not). If she's really dumpy looking, or some guy wanting on the back, JUST SAY NO !!!!!

I won't take the floorboards off. The wife likes to ride once in awhile. Thus, I'll have pop the stock seat on occasionally.

Btw, I'm still trying to figure out if the over the fender rack will fit on my bike since I have the docking hardware for the quick disconnect sissybar installed. I would think the rack would also be quick disconnect, but haven't confirmed.

I didn't buy a rocket and do all the mods to take the wife with me....I bought her, her own ride...

Besides...when a man has been a marital prisoner for as many years as me....I enjoy the sound of the wind with no vocal cords attached.........

Guys don't ride ever!!..and dumpy looking women were on the menu when I was...well.....hmmm...with less gray whiskers.......S.B.
