Let's face it guys, the 2020 model run is done and they are tooling up for the 2021 lineup. Extra time is needed for tooling to add the new rear fender, lights, pillion and full touring model complete with genuine fiberglass Triumph hard bags and a real windshield.

I'm thinking the handlebars have a lot to do with it. If the R had the GT's bars it may be a different story. I like the peg location on the R and the bars on the GT. At 5'9" that's the best set up for me. To each his own
Bound to be delays in production and supply given that the factory has been shut due to covid. Also the parts suppliers will have been shut plus distribution channels. As stated above, Triumph have taken this opportunity to lay off approx 240 UK employees
My dealer today said that this was always going to happen. R and D plus TFC models will be in UK (bikes only assembled) but production all moved to Thailand.
Their recent partnership with Bajaj for smaller cc machines is a key focus for them now. New markets I suppose is what they need to survive
It's a riddle for me that you would say that. I like to sit upright for longer rides, love real cruise control, heated grips for winter, several choices for pegs, and a backrest for passanger .(has to be safer. )Just me I guess, different taste for different people.
The story I was told that a fixed amount was produced for the year and they are sold. The dealer can not get any more. A few of the Rs are still available. It looks like Triumph might have underestimated the demand. This may help the bikes hold values.
