Supercharged
2005 through 2010 Rocket 3 Standard...see the listed links for actual fitment info.
I bought this final drive as a spare right after I bought my 2007 R3 standard. I read of numerous problems with premature final drive failure back in 2007 and had intentions of putting a lot of miles on my bike and bought many accessories and spares.
This is Triumph part number T1271000. The parts fiche shows fitment for 2005 to 2010 R3 standards, not the tourer. Not sure if the classic model uses this final drive.

Final Drive Unit replacement parts for 2005 Triumph ROCKET III
Asking $400 plus actual shipping. This is a heavy item, 25 pounds. The outer box dimensions are 14”L x 11” H x 7”W. Use these numbers to estimate shipping cost. Recommend adding insurance for actual amount paid. Payment by cash or USPS Money Order.
The following is why I’ve decided to sell this new spare. I bought the bike new in Wisconsin in July, 2007 and moved to NJ in March of 2008. Only got to put 550 miles on it before the weather turned cold and snowy. When the bike was shipped to NJ it had developed the popping out of gear problem and sat until April 2009. It went into the shop and spent 6 months getting an update kit...horrible dealer experience in Philly.
In April, 2009 I had a severe fall at work which resulted in a fractured vertebrae, 3 herniated discs, and a 7-1/2 hour spinal fusion surgery. Two titanium rods, 6 screws, and two cadaver bone grafts put a damper on my riding. Took over 6 months of physical therapy to get back on my feet.
I ended up having two update kits installed. The first dealer did a half-assed job and never fixed the problem. The second update kit was done by a quality dealer service tech, but it cost me $3100 out of pocket. Corporate Triumph failed to step up and cover their known transmission failure.
The bike has sat under a blanket in my garage since May 2010. I just woke it up, changed all the fluids, new battery, and reinstalled all the powder coated trim. The bike has 2,180 miles on it. The only thing I’ve done is drain and fill the gas tank with fresh, stabilized gas annually each fall and store the bike on a battery tender.
I’ll never wear out my original final drive and it’s time to let this spare final drive go to someone that can use it.
The Rocket started right up and is running great. It’s a testament to Triumph engineering and fuel injection. Unfortunately, my Honda Valkyrie with 6 carburetors hasn’t fared as well and will need a lot of work to get back into running condition.
Feel free to ask any questions. Sorry for the novel....
