2005 rocket III/2018 rocket III

Luckily it was a nice day so was able take a ride. Didn't get on it to much so can't comment on power difference. Don't want to beat on it tell I get it dyno tuned.
Install was pretty easy besides the rear header took some work, didn't want to slide all the way onto the flange. Substantial weight savings over the stock mufflers.
Really liking the sound. All the clips I've watched don't do it justice. Also I no longer need my Weber grill since I can cook a frozen steak in about 5 minutes on these headers.

It's substantially louder than stock. However cruising down the highway it is somewhat quiet which I like.
The biggest and probably only downside to it would be the heat coming off it. That alone isn't a big deal but with how I'm positioned on it my leg is very close to the rear header pipe. Certainly won't ever wear shorts when riding.

I too run with Sidewinder headers and cured the excessive heat problem by buying a cheap set of soccer shin guards from Walmart (about $5) and placing one under the leg of my jeans around my right shin. Before the guard, it felt like I had a second degree burn on my shin after a couple of hours of riding. After the guard, I can ride all day without discomfort. It is also light enough that you can leave it on and walk around and you won't even notice it. Try it, you'll be amazed how well it works!

Will have to try that but I can see burning holes in my jeans though. Might get them ceramic coated or just get a couple pairs of asbestos jeans haha.

If it is taking you five minutes to cook a steak on the header then your bike is running extremely rich, normal time for a steak on the sidewinder is two minutes.

I don't have that header, but I do have tall boots that I tuck my riding jeans into. Might help with the jean burning situation! These are Icon Elsinore boots. I've had them for about a year and love them! Very comfortable to ride and walk in.
