SAI / SMOG removal

Hey guys,

I'm wanting to know a bit more about the Secondary Air Injections system and removing it after a Meerkat Exhaust Mod. From what I understand it mainly for better emission numbers and assists in deceleration. It also seems to be the culprit in the piping and backfires.
I am wanting to learn from others who may have installed the removal kit if it allows better decel, stops the popping and if worth the install.

There is no performance benefit, it just stops the pop. These systems inject air into the exhaust stream and the cold air combusts any unburnt fuel. The result is lower emissions but you hear popping.

no benefit, its there for scavenging. personally I would not bother
