Saddlebag Embellishers

I'm sticking those Triumph saddlebag embellishers on my saddlebags. The instructions say to use a 3 mm leather punch to punch 2 holes in each bag in order to mount the embellishers. I don't have a leather punch. Any suggestions on other ways to make these 2 holes while not damaging the leather on the bags? Thanks.

I used a drill with a small bit and it worked fine on mine
