Running a stored bike in snowy months

Everyone seems to miss the "running it for short periods of time" part. Letting it run long enough to get fully heat soaked and oil fully up to temp wont do any harm.

The R3 charges at idle, no worries there, it makes a lot of electricity at any RPM, battery tender is not a bad idea on our bikes though.

EDIT: I should add, since 99% of R3 owners don't have a coolant temp, let alone an oil temp gauge, I wouldn't run it for any less than 30 minutes if its cold out if it's just idling in the garage/yard/etc. It takes quite a while to fully heat up.

That gives me an idea. I should figure out how to use the Rocket as an emergency generator for the house.
