Ok all you Roadster people. I know you have tachs on those speedy animals you ride. Since I have an R3T I was curious as to how many RPMs you are turning in 5th gear at various speeds in MPH. Just an approximation is fine and if you work with KPH that's okay as I can convert it. For example... my Harley ran 2500 at 55 mph. Thanks
I see where you're going "idk" and that's a good question. From what I have read on the forum, the speedometer speed is off by 5 or more miles per hour at say 75....so 75 is more like 70. Correct? So not knowing the margin of error over the range of say 0 to 100, I guess I would just have to go with speedometer speed. At best it is going to be approximations and best estimates on the RPMs relative to speed. Agreed??? Based on what people have said so far, a pretty close multiplier of 38.46 X MPH = the RPM for that speed. Based on speedometer speed of course.
After dropping a new tune into my touring I have a GPS accurate Speed'o'meter. I have also checked it as far as 65 on a residential street with a mobile radar on the side of the road. You know the ones that are put there for speed'o'meter checks. It matched up very well with the R3 speed.
Because of my advancing age, I can't remember the exact RPM/Speed combo but I think 2700 RPM gives me about 70 mph in 5th and 3200 RPM or so gives me 80 MPH, maybe 85 MPH. I will know better in the spring.
