No Scott you misunderstood me I Did have the newer mount (my bike is an 08) but the Rivco Riser brought the the whole thing back causing it to obstruct the tank so I had to get the earlier mount for which the Rivco Riser was no doubt designed. Believe me I would not have bought the earlier mount If I did not need to and by the way the new position of the bar suits me just right, I love my Rivco Risers
