I’ll not argue about the US market, but having seen the size of some of your breakers yards they are colossal!!! Here in the U.K. they’re minute in comparison! The British new bike market is tiny, a good example is Triumph Meridan over 3/4 of their products went to the US over the years.
We also don’t have the youngsters going straight into bikes, as Governments over the years have made it harder and harder to get a Bike licence. The average age for a new rider in the U.K. nowadays is around 25, I’m 67 the average age when I started was 16.
First gen Rockets over here are fetching 20% higher prices, ours do fetch £5000, that’s around US$3900. But British bikes also have relatively lower mileage, probably an average of around less than 10,000 miles a year.
