Rocket 111 2005 cranking issue

Hi All,
Looking for some advice on my 2005 Rocket that has starting issues.
When cold the bike will not turn over until the battery is almost dead then it turn's over after around 20-30 presses of the starter.
When warm the bike fires up first time without issue.
I have removed the starter and bench tested and all seems fine apart from the teeth being worn (expect that's normal).
Also new battery.
Any ideas help welcome.

I put an extra battery in the empty air box cannister after putting on K & N's. Made all the difference in cranking power.

HI jake , the issue i have is that the battery is nearly dead by the time it does crank over. Before that I just a click from the starter button and a noise from under the tank.However I might try your suggestion.

Hi Jake,
An update on my cranking issues after bench testing the starter motor, checking connections and spraying clean the relays to no avail.
I decided to start again with the battery I exchanged the lithium battery (450 CCA) with a Westco AGM battery (310 CCA) battery number for anyone interested WCP20L , and boom started first time.
Clearly didn't like the lithium battery.lol

That's great. news. I understand that the lithium type need to warm up prior to start up. Like turn on ignition for a minute or two before trying to start the bike.

It always started eventually but only once the battery was nearly dead so you may be right about warming up. however the westco battery fires her up right away. (Happy Days )
